Inspired By Old Dutch Barns

The design at Hoofdweg 67 in Eelde is inspired by the old suburban development which was occurring
around the are of the projectlocation. The old village Eelde itself consists of remote farms with in
between residential houses at the main streets.

A few important aspects occured during the design process. These are mainly the fact that it is
important to keep the structure of the village by respecting the existing character of the village.
Involvement of the community, sustainability and being creative with the design also played a role
in the designing process.

Concept

The typology of the concept is based on old barns in The Netherlands where the roof had a dominant
view.
