Sustainability goals

Weverstede is a project, that is part of the development of Stationsgebied Nieuwegein. The municipal zoning plan was approved by the Council on the 23rd of January.
The design concerns 350 homes, spread over a building block with two height accents, and a freestanding tower as a landmark.

With this project, the municipality has a high sustainability ambition in the field of circular and climate-adaptive building. This is reflected in the nature-inclusive and climate-adaptive design. The green roofs are provided with water buffering and there are also opportunities for building with wood.

Despite the compact, high density construction, the building adds 75% more greenery to the area thanks to the green facades and roofs, the inner garden and greenery at ground level.

Smart mobility solutions also ensure optimum accessibility and access to facilities.
