Zeesluisweg

Zeesluisweg

Urban blocks often possess an inherent duality in their setup. The outside of the block is facing the city. The inner facades are introvert. The focus is often placed on an inner courtyard.

Contributing to a better surrounding
With this housing block, we wanted to let some of this inner world break through to the outside. This is accomplished by making the entrances double height and sinking the parking garage half way into the ground. We can establish visual cues between the outside and the inside, thus contributing to a better surrounding of the building.
