Buikslotermeerplein
Buikslotermeerplein
The legacy of sixties’ architecture is one of hard buildings, brutalist designs made with the efficiency of machines. This example is no exception. It is a concrete temple of a previous era. Changing this building means deliberately bringing it out of balance. We concentrated our transformation around the entrance area. This involved the introduction of a lot of steel, in order to bring the balance back. For the rest, we kept it as it was. We gave her a nice dress, but she remains the machine she always used to be.
