The team behind Urban Climate Architects
Our team brings together architects, urban designers, researchers, designers, architectural technologists and project leaders. We share one clear mission: to make cities healthier, more inclusive and more climate-resilient.Based in Delft and Groningen, we combine a strong understanding of Dutch building practice with an international perspective on sustainable architecture in the Netherlands and timber architecture.What unites us is the belief that architecture can make a real difference. Not by building more, but by designing more intelligently. With care for materials, detail, nature, use and community.

Our approach to sustainability involves generating energy locally whenever possible and favoring natural biomass materials over concrete and steel to reduce environmental impact. Wood, for example, is a renewable resource that effectively stores carbon dioxide and can be easily repurposed. It is lightweight, quick to assemble, and a key component in our sustainable design strategy.
