Timber Production Hall, The Netherlands
CLT Construction Netherlands for Future-Ready Manufacturing
In Voorhout, we are designing a next-generation timber production facility that embodies the shift toward sustainable architecture Netherlands. This is not just a building for manufacturing timber elements. It is a building made of timber itself.
With a total floor area of 3,667 m², the project brings together automated production lines, storage and office space within one clear and flexible mass-timber structure.
Building the Biobased Supply Chain
The structural system consists of CLT and glued laminated timber. By choosing mass timber construction, we significantly reduce embodied carbon while storing CO₂ within the building itself.
Sustainable building only becomes truly powerful when the production chain also becomes biobased. This facility strengthens CLT construction Netherlands at its source. From design to fabrication. From vision to execution.
Large spans allow for flexible use, and the hall can be subdivided in the future. The design anticipates growth and adaptation.
Timber Architecture at Industrial Scale
As timber architects, we believe engineered timber buildings NL are not limited to housing. This project demonstrates how timber architecture Netherlands can perform at industrial scale.
The façade integrates reused Azobé timber elements, green climbing vegetation and photovoltaic panels. Energy generation becomes part of the architectural expression.
Climate-adaptive design strategies include permeable paving, planted borders and maximised daylight through large façades and roof lights. The 12-metre-high production hall is filled with natural light, creating a healthy and inspiring working environment.
