Pavilion De Dame: sustainable construction in the Paterswolde landscape
Architecture that blends in with nature and the environment
Paviljoen De Dame is located on the waterfront of Paterswolde: a place where architecture and landscape come together. This project shows how sustainable construction and experiences reinforce each other in an environment where peace, nature and encounter are central.

A pavilion that reinforces the place
The strength of the design lies in the connection with the environment. The building follows the landscape and opens to the water and greenery.
If sustainable architect Groningen we design with respect for context and nature. This creates a pavilion that feels natural in this place.

Sustainable and biobased construction as a starting point
Sustainable construction only really gains strength when we opt for biobased construction and smart, circular solutions.
In Paviljoen De Dame, we investigate how materials, detailing and design together contribute to a sustainable and healthy environment.

Nature-inclusive and climate-adaptive design
A building in the landscape requires a careful approach. With nature-inclusive construction and climate-adaptive design we strengthen biodiversity and make the building resistant to changing conditions.
Green, water and the use of materials work together to create a comfortable and future-proof place.

Timber construction and natural materials as carriers of quality
Sustainable construction only really gains strength when we opt for biobased construction and smart, circular solutions.
In pavilions, we also investigate the power of wood and natural materials. If timber construction architect we see this as an opportunity to create warm, healthy and inviting spaces.

Connection between people, buildings and nature
The pavilion was designed as a place where inside and outside intertwine. Large openings, sight lines and the use of materials strengthen this relationship.
This is in line with nature-inclusive urbanism and a new way of designing that focuses on the environment.
