Kampveld Delft — building on what is already there (NL)

At the Kampveld in Delft, we are transforming an existing building and adding a new floor with a light wooden structure. By topping building to combine with circular renovation creates a future-proof living concept in which sustainable construction, biobased construction country timber construction architecture come together.

This project shows how CLT construction Netherlands country timber architecture Netherlands contributing to rapid, smart and qualitative urban densification — without expanding the city, but reinforcing what is already there.

A second life in wood

At the Kampveld in Delft, an existing building gets a new life. What is already there forms the basis for what is to come. With a smart combination of transforming an existing building and topping the building, we add an extra layer of living, light, efficient and ready for the future.

This is where sustainable construction really takes on meaning, not by demolishing, but by strengthening.

Wood as a carrier of change

We consciously opt for biobased construction and lightweight construction in CLT bouw Nederland. Wood makes it possible to build quickly, with little load on the existing building. At the same time, wood stores CO₂ and ensures a warm and healthy indoor climate.

As Urban Climate Architects, we design wood architecture that you feel, warm in appearance, lightweight, strong in effect.

This is timber architecture Netherlands as it was intended, smart, circular and focused on people.

Densify without expanding

Kampveld's strength lies in what is already there. By opting for urban densification, we add homes without using extra space. We will continue to build on existing buildings, streets and the neighborhood.

That means building homes faster, using less material, and maintaining the place and atmosphere.

An approach that fits well with the demand for sustainable homes in the Netherlands.

Circular and future-proof

This project shows how circular renovation and timber construction work well together. We reuse the existing building and build with circular materials. This creates a building that is ready for the future.

Each step ensures fewer CO₂ emissions, less waste, more long-term value.

In this way, Kampveld will not only be a great place to live, but also an example of how we can renew the city in a sustainable way.

Building the next layer together

Together with our client Maatschap PSM, we are working on a project that shows what is possible if you look differently. Do not demolish, but continue to build. Do not expand, but compact smartly.

Do you see opportunities in an existing building?

Let's build the next layer of the city together.

Topping and timber construction in Delft

At the Kampveld in Delft, we show how topping buildings and timber architecture together form a smart solution for the city's growth. Instead of developing new areas, we're building on what's already there. This is how we make sustainable construction concrete and visible.

With a lightweight construction in CLT bouw Nederland, we are adding an extra layer of living to the existing building. This way of building solid wood is fast, efficient and requires little of the existing structure. Wood stores CO₂, reduces emissions and contributes to a healthy living environment.

As a timber architect, we design buildings that feel good and function well. Wood provides a warm appearance and a pleasant indoor climate. This project shows how timber architecture Netherlands contributes to a better city with more homes and more quality.

By opting for toppings, we make smart use of the space that already exists, we strengthen existing neighborhoods and we build new homes more quickly. Kampveld is therefore a strong example of urban densification with impact.

Circular renovation and transformation in Delft

At the Kampveld in Delft, we are working on a future-proof building by combining circular renovation and topping up the building. We are building on what is already there and adding a new layer of living. This creates a smart and sustainable solution for housing demand.

As a renovation architect in the Netherlands and building transformation architect, we opt for the reuse, preservation and reinforcement of existing buildings. This is in line with the growing demand for transforming existing buildings and converting existing buildings into homes.

With biobased construction and wood as an important material, we reduce the impact on the environment. Wood ensures fewer emissions, a healthy indoor climate and a pleasant quality of living. This is sustainable architecture Netherlands in practice.

By combining topping up and transformation, we create more homes without taking up extra space. This is how we work on a city that grows and gets better at the same time.
