Stadsgravenstraat 51 in Enschede is set to undergo a significant redevelopment, featuring a blend of preservation and innovation. This project involves a series of adjacent buildings, with most preserved and one set to be replaced by a new structure crafted to complement the historic character of the street, constructed in classic brick.

Enhancing Heritage with Modern Design

The redevelopment will see the addition of new upper floors on one of the buildings, respecting and integrating with the existing architecture. These new levels will provide additional space and a contemporary look, harmonizing with the historical context of the area.

The project includes a mix of functions: the ground floor will house retail spaces, while the upper levels are designed as residential units. Some of these residences will feature small balconies, offering outdoor space and views of the surroundings.

Revitalizing the Streetscape

This redevelopment aims to enhance both the visual appeal and functionality of Stadsgravenstraat-Noorderhagen. By maintaining key historical elements and incorporating modern design, the project will contribute to a vibrant and attractive environment for residents and visitors alike.
