Fish market 40 min Groningen is the scene of an impressive transformation from a historic national monument. The iconic building, known for its distinctive bell façade, is undergoing a major renovation, including a modern topping is added without losing its historic charm. This project is a perfect illustration of how historic and modern architecture can come together harmoniously.

A Surprising Transformation of a National Monument

The building at Vismarkt 40 used to be a classic example of old architecture, but showed signs of aging. At home transformation the monument is respected, while retaining its original features such as the bell gable, while adding new elements that improve the functionality of the building.

Topping and Modern Additions to Fish Market 40

The topping the back of the building has been carefully designed to maintain the architectural balance. Large glass panels provide plenty of natural light, while the sleek aluminum edges provide a modern look.
