Redevelopment of an old factory site

There is an old factory site near Woerden station. This site is now being transformed into a new residential area. The redevelopment is almost complete. Several parts of the project have already been built or are under construction. The final phase ensures a good connection with the rest of the city. This creates a vibrant and green neighborhood.

A design for residents

The plan focuses on people and nature. There will be 29 family homes with private gardens. The houses are divided into four blocks and one detached house. A public green space will be built in the middle of the neighborhood. This will be a great place to play, walk or meet each other. The neighborhood also connects well to Woerden's cycle path network.

Sustainable brick architecture

The houses are designed in a modern brick style. This fits well with the look of traditional homes. The facades get special details, such as beautiful angles and different brickwork. Green pergolas add atmosphere to shadows. There are nesting places for birds and bats in the facades. This helps nature in the city.

Urban Climate Architects designs with the climate in mind

Urban Climate Architects is involved in the design of this neighborhood. These architects are thinking about climate and sustainability. They use materials that last a long time and are less harmful to the environment. Green areas reduce heat and help collect rainwater. This way, the neighborhood will remain pleasant to live in the future.
